The glitz and glamour of the TV soap may reemerge again – Dynasty, the risque sudser recounting the powerful Carringtons will soon return to the air. Switching the return of Krystal as Hispanic, when she joins the billionaire family fold. Facing off with oil magnate Blake Carrington’s overprotective daughter, Fallon, as daddy’s perfect little girl, who’s impossible to befriend, and the offspring of Blake’s and his first wife Alexis, (originally played by John Forsythe and Joan Collins).

Both veterans of film and TV, Forsythe in roles including TV’s Bachelor Father (1957-62) and Alfred Hitchcock’s The Trouble with Harry (1955), and Collins, appearing in a panorama of television and features, such as Esther and the King (1960) and as E! Network’s The Royals, the English Dame leveled color insults – and brawls – with good girl Krystal during the sudsy prime timer’s ‘81-’89 run. Spinning a series return in Dynasty: The Reunion (1991).

Following Fallon’s marrying into the Colby family, to Jeff. Allegedly illegitimate son of California oilman and Blake’s partner in an alleged pipeline construction deal, Jason Colby, of The Colbys (1985-1987).

Series’ creators Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz will produce in the tradition of Douglas S. Cramer, Ed Ledding, Elaine Rich, Esther and Richard Shapiro and E. Duke Vincent.

Producing with Fake Empire writers Schwartz and Savage, is FE’s co-executive seat Lis Rowinski, alongside CBS Television Studios. The original shows’ Shapiros will co-produce and advise as pre-production seats September 30, 2016.

Linda Evans, star of television’s western Big Valley and Dynasty’s Krystal, accepted Blake’s hand in marriage, in the original, after working as his secretary at his conglomerate Denver-Carrington. Their wedded bliss nearly derailed by the tempestuous Fallon. First played Pamela Sue Martin, scheming to oust Krystal from the family by splitting Krystal and Blake apart. Including aiding mommy Alexis to locate Krystal’s ex, tennis player Mark Jennings and prove Krystal wanted Blake only for the family fortune. Irony personified as Collin’s Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan in the soaper’s 9-year air (kid you not).

Savage and Schwartz teamed to produce the iconic Gossip Girl on the CW through its 121-episode run. Based on the book series by Cecily von Ziegesar. The parry-thrust dialogue and on-location sets of G2 may be the one-two combination Savage and Schwartz leverage to parlay Dynasty into a souped-up dissertation on the, entitled, Diva-is-me world we live in now – if the future of a cashless society can support it.

Viewers of Gossip Girl and soap phenomenon Dynasty can hear the latest incarnation of Blair-turned-Fallon-Carrington even now:

Because I’m Worth It”.

(Dibs on the return of Samantha Josephine Dean Reece Carrington Fallmont. Or ‘Miz Sammy Jo’, if you’re “nasty”’.)

Dynasty will follow in Gossip Girl’s set and shingle with its premiere on the CW Network. Seriously.
